Do that old knick knack patty whack one. That's always a fun one. Try getting educational videos, like Sesame street. You don't necessarily have to play the vid, but you can at least teach them the cute little songs about numbers, etc.

Kids always what to have fun and play when teaching you can always try to group them and teach them while they play the winner gets a price, but always give the losers a consolation price if not they might take it as a sign that you don't like them… GOOD LUCK!

Making learning interactive is a big point for young children. If you can give them something active to do, that is honestly the best way for them to learn. For example, have them graph the colors of M&Ms found in a snack size bag. They are physically doing something, but learning at the same time. They could pattern themselves (i.e. boy, girl, boy, girl, etc.) of you could give them die cut shapes to use. These websites have lots of good ideas and I use them quite a bit.

I would recommend steering away from worksheet type of activities. Turn as many practice sessions as possible into small group games, large group games, individual or pair hands on activities. If you have a specific concepts you are interested in activity ideas for you are welcome to email me and I may be able to be more specific. I find that at the Kindergarten level, their fine motor is really not all that great yet and worksheets can be "tiring and boring" for many of them. And really, we know they are going to learn more through hands on fun. What skills are you working on presently? I may have some songs appropiate for their age in my files.

play games with them. or ask the principal if u can give candy out to them. do a game of jeopardy at the end of each lesson so that they now if they pay attention and learn than they have a better chance of winning candy. but only do this at the end of each lesson u teach it will help alot!

Do the monkey on the bed song.

5 little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

    (How many monkeys are left??)

4 little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head (Oh no!)
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

    (How many are left??)

3 little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head (Oops!)
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

( How many are left now??)

2 little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head (we wont do that!)
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

    (So.. how many are left?)

1 little monkey jumping on the bed
He fell off and bumped his head

No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

No little monkeys jumping on the bed
None fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
Put those monkeys back in bed!
