I was just curious if there was any truth to that. It said others know a secret code, but not the actual ingredient.

This is true. I was actually visiting the coca cola website for research, and stumbled upon this in a fact file for their birthday edition. They even admitted that early coke contained the same ingredients from the same plants that cocaine is produced from, but that has changed now.
It's to prevent anyone from stealing the recipe.

    It's true. The entire formula is locked in a safe.
    If either one of them die, there are provisions
    that the safe may be opened and someone else
    will be given the responsibility of knowing the secret.

    This way, information cannot be sold to Pepsi etc., because no one actual person knows the entire answer.

    Years ago, when Coke was new, one of the ingredients was a derivative of the coca plant, which is also found in cocaine. Of course, they had to remove that ingredient some time later.

    It used to be true until it was discovered that they were using cocaine to addict consumers. They now do not use cocaine because well obviously it is illegal…
