This is the Solution to my previous video on the 5 Coin Puzzle. Click below to try it without the Solution http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW1u5pDZzWY **Opening snowy road footage shot in Hakone, Japan. First time I’ve ever had to put chains on the tires!
the guys that say … the guys that say they did it on 2 moves it’s cause they aren’t counting a move which is just a slide to return to the original area occupied by the coins. There is a 2 movement “solution” but the coins do not occupy the same “space” they have moved a bit. So really to end up in the same place where you started with the coins on the desired order it needs an extra move. However that 2 movement solution is actually easier than this dumb stupid solution. Good job to those fellas.
I don’t like that … I don’t like that solution too much.
I thought there were to be no gaps between the coins in the end. Your third move is moving two small coins into a gap that was created by a small coin and a big one. That leaves a gap in my book. Okay, not if the coins are the same size, but in this case they are not.
A solution without that problem…
Move coin 2 and 3 to the left of 1, then slide 3 and 1 (now adjacent) to the right just far enough to make room for 4 and 5 between them and coin 2.
